Kathryn Gozdziewicz, 72, of Hamlet, Indiana, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at her home.

 

She was born December 14, 1948 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Byron Briner and Dorothy (Conley) Briner.

 

On September 23, 1994, in LaPorte, IN, she married Andrzej "Andy" B.  Gozdziewicz who preceded her in death August 20, 2014.

 

A lifelong resident of NW Indiana, Kathryn was a store clerk and office manager before retirement. She was a member of the Falcons in La Porte with her husband. Kathryn enjoyed many activities, including bowling, quilting, jewelry making, and ceramics. She was an avid seamstress and loved gardening, especially flowers.  Her favorite mothers-day activity was going to the casinos with her son.

 

She is survived by her son, Kurt (Diane) Hoover Jr. of Trail Creek, IN; daughter, Kimberly (Broch) Wyse of Michigan City, IN; three brothers, Andrew (Mona) Briner of Hammond, IN, Byron "Skip" (Dawn) Briner Jr. of Sevierville, TN, David (Cindy) Briner of TX; three grandchildren, Quentin Tracy of Hamlet, IN, MacKinnon Tracy of Nashville, TN, Nayte Wyse of Michigan City, IN and her beloved cat, Boo Boo.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Monday, April 26, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.  A graveside service and interment will be held on Tuesday April 27 at 9:00 a.m. at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, with her Brother, Andy Briner, officiating.  Anyone attending these events must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
