John Mullins, 67, of Kingsford Heights, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

 

He was born August 12, 1953 in Grayson, Kentucky, the son of Carlos Woodrow Mullins and Mamie Lee(Vanhoose).

 

On September 18, 1971 in La Porte, John married Elizabeth Armstrong Mullins, who survives.

 

He is also survived by his four daughters, Vonda Mullins of La Porte, Joyce Mullins of La Porte, Kandye Mullins of La Porte, Crystal Mullins of Kingsford Heights; four brothers, Jim (Joy) Mullins of Kingbury, Timothy (Linda) Mullins of OH, Mike Mullins of La Porte, Chuck (Ruby) Mullins of MI; sisters, Debbie Price of La Porte, Berneda ( Dennis ) Carrier of La Porte; eleven grandchildren, Josh, Kyle, Zac, Cody, Matthew, Elizabeth, Alec, Braydon, Nicholas, Amber, Alexis; 6 great grandchildren and a large extended family.

 

John was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Karen Mullins, sister, Carol Huffman, brother, Larry Mullins, brother, Roger Mullins.

 

John was a long-time resident of La Porte, moving to the area 51 years ago from Kentucky. He was a production worker for a box manufacturing company locally. John enjoyed working on cars and doing remodeling projects, going fishing and playing slots on Facebook.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Sunday from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. A life celebration will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 p.m. Sunday.  The family has selected cremation.  Anyone attending these events must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
