Rae Carol (Deardurff) Winkler, 93, of Bourbon, Indiana, formerly of La Porte, Indiana passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021.

 

Rae was born August 28, 1927, in Morocco, Indiana to the late Ray and Jessie (Elijah) Deardurff.

Rae retired as a procurement manager at Lockheed after 20 years of service and worked in Real Estate for 20 years. She was a Hospice volunteer and a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in La Porte.

 

Rae is survived by a daughter, Sandra Gerrish of Bremen, Indiana; two sons, Steven Tucker of Groveland, California, and Bruce (Kathleen) Prescott of Santa Clara, California; a stepdaughter, Freda (Tom) Rothermell of San Diego, California; a stepson, Rick Winkler of San Diego, California; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Siddell of La Porte, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Beverly Williamson, and Ruth Schilla; and a brother, Richard Deardurff.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. (CST), Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Patton Cemetery in La Porte. Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel.
