Margaret Ann McGuire

Margaret Ann McGuire, 91, La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 8:22 am in her home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, March 19, 2021 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor William Fine officiating. Graveside services and burial will take place 10:00 am Monday, March 22, 2021 in Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Paris, TN. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm -8:00 pm, Thursday and from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.

She was born July 29, 1929 in Big Sandy, TN to the late Thomas and Bernice (King) Riordan. On January 29, 1949 in Chicago, IL she married Robert McGuire who preceded her on March 24, 2009.

Surviving are four daughters, Jeanne (Ken) Huff of Danbury, WI, Marjorie (Russell) Midkiff of Granger, IN, Jane McGuire of Buchanan, MI and Patricia McGuire of North Liberty, IN; three sons, Tom (Hongxia) McGuire of Luoyang, China, Robert (Michelle) McGuire of LaPorte, IN and John (Barb) McGuire of LaPorte, IN; fourteen grandchildren, Quinn McGuire, Brent (Sarah) Huff, Ryan (Joanna) Huff, Morgan McBride, Shannon (Jeff) Johnston, Desereah Deniston, Katrina (Tim) Richmond, Erin McGuire, Derek (Ashley) Kovalcik, Stefan Kovalcik, Bradley Long, Genna Long, Clayton Long and Brian (Brianna) McGuire; thirteen great-grandchildren, Abigail, Emily, Olivia, Gage, Cole, Bryce, Savannah, Emmalynn, Reagan, Ty, Evelyn, Ethan and Eleanor.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward Riordan.

Margaret was a joy to all who crossed her path. Obstacles in life never swayed her sense of humor nor grace. She was a phenomenal cook and baker known for her cinnamon rolls. Her family was her passion and after raising her children she often took care of her grandchildren. At the family vacation home in Wisconsin, she and Bob taught the kids to fish and instilled the love of the outdoors.
