Mark Alan Lynn

Mark Alan Lynn, 63, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Northwest Health - La Porte. 

   

Mark was born in Oakland City, IN, on August 15, 1957 to William Wesley and Alma Lee (Beadles) Lynn. 

 

On June 7, 1982 in Oklahoma City, OK he married the love of his life, Madelyn Fettinger, who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Ashley Vandemark of La Porte, Brent (Heather) Lynn of Kentwood, MI, and Brandon Hire of Edmond, OK; 5 grandchildren, Makenzie Weaver of La Porte, Harrison Lynn of Kentwood, MI, Chase O'Connell of Fort Wayne, Lily Hire of Edmond, OK, and Landon Hire of Edmond, OK; sister, Kathy Ahmed of Indianapolis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sue Lynn; and brother, David Lynn.

 

Mark proudly served in the U.S. Navy, aboard the USS Milwaukee.

 

Mark was an operator for 32 years at the La Porte Water Department.  Mark loved watching IU basketball.  He also enjoyed bike rides, country drives, and reading True Crime novels.  Most importantly, Mark loved his grandchildren dearly.  Anyone who knew Mark, knew that he never met a stranger.  Mark will be remembered by his children for the loving, honorable way he cared for their mother, Madelyn.

 

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 from 4 -7 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.  The Celebration of Life Gathering will begin with Military Honors at 4 p.m.  Cremation will follow the gathering.

 

Due to the recent Governor's Order, anyone attending the gathering is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet.   We kindly ask for your patience as we oversee these mandated guidelines.
