Eugene John Burek

Eugene John Burek was born in La Porte, Indiana on September 27, 1934, to the late Martin and Caroline (Kurtyka) Burek. He passed away on March 2, 2021.

 

He worked at Screw Machine Products as a machinist for 32 years. After retirement, he loved to travel and stayed in Clearwater, Florida for three months a year for 15 years. He was the treasurer for Senior Citizens for the Deaf for many years, a member of the South Bend Deaf Club, La Porte Deaf Club, the Moose Lodge, and the F.O.P., and enjoyed playing bingo. He attended the Deaf School in Indianapolis.

 

Eugene is survived by his wife, Sharon (Moore); loving daughters, Genia Reutter of La Porte, Pansy (Mike) Losinecki of La Porte; cherished grandson, Nathan Reutter; a sister, Emily Deardorff of Indianapolis; nephews, Eddie Burek, Dan Slater, Dave Reed, Dan Reed, Phil Deardorff, Willis Deardorff; and nieces, Camie Beasley, and Susie Nance. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ed Burek; sisters, Jenny Reed and Wanda Slater; and loving companion, Lou his dog.  

 

Private burial services will take place.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Frank L. Keszei Funeral Home, Essling Chapel in La Porte.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the La Porte Animal Shelter, 2855 IN-2, La Porte, Indiana 46350 in honor of Eugene Burek.
