Bryan James Holden

Bryan James Holden, 50, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2021 at VNA Hospice Center.

 

Bryan was born on August 13, 1970 in Gary, IN, to Paul Edward Holden and Jewell Lee (Miller) Holden Matthews.

 

On May 11, 2015 in Crown Point, IN, he married Wayne Necessary who survives.  Also surviving Bryan are his parents, Jewell and Michael Matthews; 2 brothers, Paul (Donna) Allen Holden and Harold (Laurie) Leon Holden; 7 nephews, John (Clarissa) Paul Holden, Taylor Allen Holden, Anthony Edward Holden, Cody Michael Holden, Alex Edward Holden, Ryan Austin Holden, and Eric Steven Holden;  1 great-niece, Avery Lee Holden; 2 great-nephews, Liam  Holden and Wyatt Austin Holden; 9 beloved fur babies, Elle, Acasah, Taya, Baby, Lizzy, Della, Gauto, Cyrus, and Kia; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by father, Paul Edward Holden who passed in May 1993. 

 

“Bryan was co-owner, along with Wayne, of JJ's Pizza Shack of La Porte.  He was a funny, kind-hearted friend, who loved to joke around.  His smile was bigger than life.  Bryan was known to offer a helping hand to anyone in need.  He had a knack of relating to all he met.  Bryan's great sense of humor and joyous spirit will be greatly missed by those who knew him.”

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service will take place at a later date.

 

To honor Bryan's life and in keeping with his generous heart, memorial contributions may be directed to Hannah's Hope, 6300 Founders Square, Portage, IN 46368.  Hannah's Hope is a non-profit organization that helps to provide developmental equipment to kids with special needs.
