Raymond Arnold Metheny, Jr., 60, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

 

Raymond was born on May 26, 1960 in South Bend, IN, to Raymond A. and Martha (Piscello) Metheny.

 

On March 3, 1979 in La Porte, IN, he married Belinda Meeks who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Nicole (Randy) Daisy of La Porte, Ray (Ashley) Metheny of La Porte, Brandon Metheny of La Porte, and Nathaniel (Kelley) Metheny of Rolling Prairie; 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Isaiah, and Elijah Daisy, Callen, Addison, and Rylee Metheny, Sadie and Sawyer Metheny, and Landon and Connor Metheny; 2 great-grandchildren, Levi and Mia Daisy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded by his parents; sister, Connie Franks; and brother, Doug Metheny.

 

Raymond was a dump truck driver for many years.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union.  Raymond enjoyed drag racing and watching baseball, particularly the White Sox.  He was a baseball coach for his grandchildren.  More than anything, Raymond loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ricky Bray officiating.  Burial will follow at Carmel Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home. 

 

Due to the recent Governor's Order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask and practice social distancing of six feet.
