Penny S. Kirkham "Busia", 71, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020. 

 

She was born on August 22, 1949 in La Porte, Indiana to the late Matthew "Mac" and Thelma (Foltz) Konowitz. Penny was employed with Aero Metals since 1996 and was the former office manager of Bernacchi’s Farm Market.

 

She was a member of the First Church of God in La Porte, a volunteer with Hospice, and loved to spread joy through her balloon art.  Penny always gave of herself; her currency was love.

 

Penny leaves behind her sons, Cory Allen (Sharon) Kirkham of La Porte, Dr. Matthew Charles (Linnea) Kirkham of La Porte; grandchildren, Zachariah, Sarah Anne, Gabrielle, Caleb, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Tyler and Ella; a great granddaughter, Zoey; and siblings, Tim (Cile) Konowitz of La Porte, Randy (Kim) Konowitz of Ft. Wayne, and Becky (Jim) Pressel of Rolling Prairie.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and older brother, Jerry Konowitz.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at the First Church of God, 2020 E Lincolnway, La Porte, Indiana 46350.  Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021, at the First Church of God. Pastor Jeff Zigler will officiate. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
