Nancy Sams, 61, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, December 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.

 

She was born in La Porte on July 21, 1959, the daughter of Theodore and Evelyn (Kurbis) Rempala.

 

In 1981, Nancy married Terry Sams, who survives.

 

She is also survived by her son, Justin E. (Kristin) Sams of La Porte; Jessica E Sams of Houston, TX; 3 grandchildren, Kaylee, Keegan and Mackinzieand her beloved Pit Bull, Axle.

 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Timothy and Ted Rempala.

A lifelong resident of the area, Nancy worked as the administrative assistant for Four Winds Casino. She was a Catholic, affiliated with St. Joseph Catholic Church in La Porte.  She enjoyed fishing and camping with her family in their big RV trailer.   Her special joy was her grandchildren, who she doted over.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN.  The family has selected cremation, with a private interment of cremated remains at Pine Lake Cemetery.
