Phyllis Shiff, age 66, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Thursday, November 19, 2020, at NW Health La Porte.

 

She was born November 18, 1954, in Holden, West Virginia, the daughter of Vester Lee and Gladys Vance Adkins.

 

Phyllis, who lived in the area for many years, was on the swim team for La Porte High School, where she won a medal. She worked as a waitress for Luigi's for several years and was a past member of 1st Free Will Baptist Church. Phyllis enjoyed bold colors and dressed accordingly and loved listening to music. She kept a special photo album of her late daughter, Connie - her family meant everything to her.

 

Phyllis is survived by a brother, Jerry David (Marti) Adkins of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Sharon Disbrow of New Carlisle, IN;2 grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Connie Shiff; her brother, Leon Adkins, and 2 ex-husbands, Bill Schepel and James Shiff.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN.  A memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church.
