Gilbert "Gil"  David Ware, 70, passed away on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City.

 

Gil was born on May 8, 1950 in Rochester, NY, to Leighton and Ruth (Frisbee) Ware.

 

On November 29, 2001, he married Debbie Craft who preceded him in death.  Surviving are their children, Aaron Luncsford of Michigan City, Patrick Luncsford of La Porte; and Liz Luncsford of Virginia; several grandchildren; siblings, Lori Knowlton of Michigan City, Steve (Jan) Kruger of Michigan City, and Paul (Frances) Kruger of Miami, Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; son, Michael Luncsford; sister, Virginia Kruger; and brother-in-law, Red Knowlton.

 

Gil was a gifted artist and entrepreneur.  He and his wife, whom he loved deeply, enjoyed traveling around the country for art shows.  In later years, he was his wife's devoted caregiver.  Gil was known for his sharp sense of humor.  He was kind, thoughtful, and friend to many.  Gil was dedicated to being a positive force for patience, tolerance, love and understanding.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held later in 2021.
