Carmalee Tanksley

Carmalee Tanksley, 78, of Mill Creek, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

 

Carmalee was born on May 9, 1942 in Knox, IN, to Henry and Olean (Parks) Mullins.

 

On May 23, 1959 in North Liberty, IN, she married Daffard Tanksley who survives.  Also surviving are her children, Ken (Liz) Tanksley of Mill Creek, Steve (Beth) Tanksley of Falcon, CO, and Todd (Tracy) Tanksley of New Buffalo, MI; 9 grandchildren, Stephanie (Rrahul) Chohan of La Porte, Kylie (Matt) Hintz of La Porte, Christian (Breanna) Tanksley of Falcon, CO, Caleb (Brittany) Tanksley of Falcon, CO, Aaron Tanksley of Falcon, CO, and Ashley, Kelsey, Brenden, and Carlee Tanksley, all of New Buffalo, MI; 2 great-grandchildren, Mason and Emersyn; father, Marvin White of Fish Lake; siblings, Clarence (Joann) Mullins of Granger, Jerry (Edith) White of Germany, and Russell (Cindy) White of FL; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded by her mother and biological father.

 

Carmalee was a bus driver for many years.  She enjoyed camping, gardening, and singing in choir.  Most importantly, Carmalee enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jeff Dryden officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. 

 

Due to the recent Governor's Order, anyone attending the visitation and/or service is required to wear a mask.

 

Memorial donations may be made to Hamilton Grove, 31869 Chicago Trail, New Carlisle, IN 46552-9640 in Carmalee's honor.
