Dorothy "Dottie" M. Christ, 95, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at Golden Living Center La Porte.

 

Dottie was born on September 19, 1925 in Michigan City, IN, to Louis and Hazel (Hanson) Christ.

 

Surviving Dottie are her cousin, Zoe Ann (Wilgus) Smith of La Porte; sister-in-law, Mary Christ of La Porte; niece, Cindy Corbitt of La Porte; and nephews, Robin and Kelly Christ, both of La Porte.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Christ.

 

Dottie was a telephone operator for many years.  She enjoyed sports and was 300 bowler.  As a young adult, Dottie played in the women's softball league.  In 1948, mid-season, she was recruited to play with the South Bend Blue Sox. Later she was traded to the Fort Wayne Daisies and then to the Rockford Peaches

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
