Angela Anna Demoret, 92, of La Porte, Indiana passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2020.

Angela was born April 14, 1928, on the family farm in Oldenburg, Indiana to the late John A. and Marie (Bedel) Lamping.

 

On May 30, 1949, Angela married James A. Demoret, who preceded her in death in 2008.

Angela was a devout Catholic and a woman of prayer.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaPorte.  She volunteered with the St. Joseph Rosary Sodality, St. Vincent DePaul Society, St. Margaret’s Circle, and the Fatima Group, where for 12 years she was a secretary and treasurer.  Angela operated a cleaning service which included cleaning St. Joseph Parish.  She was an accomplished seamstress in her spare time, and after retirement kept busy with volunteer work and jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed annual trips to the family farm for reunions and celebrated her 90th birthday at the farm where she was born.  She was also known for her wonderful memory of family genealogy and events and enjoyed taking photos of times spent with family and friends.

 

Angela is survived by three daughters, Rose Marie (Ron) Kutch of Gladstone, Oregon, Ann (Randy) Hoover of Walkerton, Indiana, and Veronica (Vern) Sams of Rock Hill, South Carolina; two sons, Vincent (Kris) Demoret of La Porte, Indiana and James Demoret of St. Paul, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernadette (Norbert) Harpring and Irene (Walter) Meyer; five brothers, August (Bernice) Lamping, Cletus (Betty) Lamping, Jerome (Alice) Lamping, Carl (Kate) Lamping, and John (Carol) Lamping; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; a son, Michael Demoret; a grandson, Gregory Spencer; a sister, Rosemary Nobbe; and three brothers, Francis, Joseph, and Alphonse Lamping.

 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2020, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 109 C Street, La Porte, Indiana. Reverend Ian Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

 

A memorial gathering will take place on the Lamping Farm at a later date.
