Gwendalyn “Gwen” Alene Broviak, 62, of La Porte passed away peacefully at 9:49 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020, at La Porte Hospital.

 

She was born March 25, 1958, in La Porte to Buddy and Audrey (Holt) Berry.

 

Gwen was a registered nurse for 27 years spending most of her career at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City. She loved to cook for her family and friends. Gwen also enjoyed gardening, her roses, and especially nursing her Dogwood tree.

 

On February 5, 1994, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, La Porte, she married, Mark Broviak, who survives.

 

Also surviving are three children; Angela Neumann of Mishawaka, IN., Brandon Neumann and Tyler Broviak, both of La Porte; three sisters, Rose Bogart of La Porte, Belinda Siebe of Orlando, FL., and Connie Westerlund of Portage, IN.; and 2 grandchildren, Brandon and James. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers.

 

A celebration of life memorial gathering will be held from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at the American Legion, 228 E. Lincolnway, La Porte. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the arrangements (219)362-3100.
