Jesse Mizer

Jesse Mizer, 34, of Michigan City, passed away unexpectedly at 5:46 p.m., Tuesday, May 26, 2020, in his home.

 

He was born November 19, 1985, in Valparaiso, Indiana, to Lance and Tamara (Harris) Mizer. His grandmother, Maria Kuhnel, took him under her wing and raised him like her own son.

 

Jesse worked as a landscaper. He enjoyed cooking, going to concerts and road trips and playing with his children and other children in the family. Jesse was a big kid himself. He formerly was a member of a dart league that played regularly on Wednesdays. Jesse will be missed by his family.

 

On June 14, 2008, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Andrea Dee (Jones) Mizer, who survives.

 

Also surviving are his two children, Ethan Mizer age 13 and Caylee Mizer age 4 (Daddy’s Little Princess) both of Michigan City; mother, Tamara (James) Davidson of West Tawakoni, TX; stepmother, Lisa Mizer of La Porte; three sisters, Melanie Mizer of Alma, Arkansas, Amber (Kyle) Mizer of Michigan City and Elizabeth Tully of Michigan City; five brothers, Frank (Ashley Lindsey) Mizer of Michigan City, Chris Mizer of Arkansas, Jeffrey Mizer, Steven Summerlin and Brandon Summerlin all of Michigan City; mother and father-in-law, Kimberly and John Putchaven of La Porte; sister-in-law, Brittney (Tyler) Koch of La Porte; three aunts, Valerie Ginther of Trail Creek, Samantha Chapala of Michigan City and Andrea Kuhnel of Michigan City; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, and cousins.

 

Preceding in death were his father, Lance Mizer; paternal grandmother, Maria Kuhnel; and one brother, Michael Mizer.

 

Cremation will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
