Pamela “Pam” O’Marrah, 62, of La Porte, Indiana, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away unexpectedly at 7:38 p.m., Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at Franciscan Health Hospital, Crown Point, Indiana.

 

She was born December 5, 1957, in Chicago, IL, to Edward and Elizabeth (Hughes) Florian.

 

Pamela was recently retired. She was very family-oriented and loved cooking for everyone. Pamela had a big heart and personality. She was very helpful towards others and was a great neighbor.

 

On March 31, 1978, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, in Chicago, IL, she married Patrick O’Marrah, who preceded her in death on November 24, 2010.

 

Also preceding in death were her parents; one sister, Joyce Bates; and sister-in-law, Betty Florian.

 

Surviving are her two daughters, Stacy (Larry) Wheeler and Mary O’Marrah both of La Porte; two sisters, Linda (Don) Scott of Rensselaer, IN and Kathy (Tom) Carey of Pullman, MI; two brothers, Edward Florian of Wheatfield, IN and David (Stephanie) Florian of South Haven, MI; sister-in-law, Mary (Louie) DeSimone of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Wheeler, Kyle (Sam Moffitt) Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Anna O’Marrah and Kathleen O’Marrah; and two great-grandchildren, Malachi and Maddox Moffitt.

 

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. A private graveside service will follow at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery, Alsip, IL.
