Michael Grant, 67, of La Porte, IN, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.

 

He was born January 31, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Casimir Grant and Irene (Madrid) Grant.

 

Michael was baptized into the Catholic Faith.  Michael loved to go fishing, hunting, a true outdoorsman. He was known to kids as "Ranger Mike". He enjoyed cowboy music and held a special loved for his dog Shamus. 

 

On May 14, 1994, he married Charlene Grant who survives. He is also survived by his son, Chad Grant of Duluth, MN; daughter, Jodie (Rick McCay) Grant of Woodstock, IL; brother, Ronald Grant of Acworth, GA; four sisters, Cynthia Carson of Noblesville, IN, Sharon (John) Memecek of Marietta, GA, Joyce Grant of Milwaukee, WI, Elizabeth (Tom) Scheidt of Chicago, IL; a grandchild, Casimir Grant;  Michael was preceded in death by his father.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 28 at 10 am.  Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm with Pastor Bob Vale officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IN.

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society La Porte County Animal Shelter 2855 IN-2 La Porte, IN 46350 in Michael's name.
