Cynthia Lou Hyde, 69, of Valparaiso, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Porter Regional Hospital. 

   

Cynthia was born in Columbus, IN, on February 25, 1951 to Jack M.and Barbara J. (Weidman) Hyde. 

 

Surviving Cynthia are her children, Brian (Kim) Jones of Waterville, OH and Jaime Jones of Plano, IL; 3 grandchildren, Zach Jones, Avery Jones, and Kaylee Wring; sisters, Sharon Shilt of La Porte and Teri Turk of Valparaiso; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, Laurel and Edna Weidman, Maurice E. Hyde, and Kathleen Hyde.

 

Cynthia was a Registered Nurse. She lived at The Life Care Center of the Willows in Valparaiso for the past 10 years. There she was an active resident, regularly delivering the resident's mail.  Cynthia was President of the Nursing Home residents. She enjoyed playing Bunko with her Bunko Club.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

   

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at Bethany Lutheran Church, 102 G. Street, La Porte, IN with Pastor Dennis Meyer officiating.

 

Due to COVID-19, the family will not be receiving friends before the service.  They kindly ask that everyone follow CDC guidelines, if they choose to attend.
