Sonja S. Gonzalez, 77, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 3:02 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Golden Living Center Fountainview Terrace, La Porte.

 

She was born June 11, 1942, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Henry and Mona (Petersen) Wolt.

 

Sonja was a nurse for St. Anthony Hospital for ten years. She enjoyed sewing and reading.

 

Surviving are her three children, Brian (Leslie) Gonzalez of Michigan City, Kimberly Fields of Valparaiso, and Darren (Amy) Gonzalez of La Porte; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one best friend, Marie Bulakowski of TN.

 

Preceding in death were her parents; two sisters, Remona Ford and Delores Lindborg.

 

Cremation will take place. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
