Philip Mazur

Philip Mazur, 72, of La Porte, IN, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2020, at his home in La Porte. He was born on February 18, 1948, in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Edmond and Mary Lou Mazur.

 

Philip served in the United States Marines Corp., PLT 141, receiving an honorable discharge on December 19, 1972. First and foremost Philip loved to go deep-sea fishing. He loved his family, NASCAR, and visiting the Blue Chip casino. As a maintenance supervisor for Sullair, Philip earned a 25-year book award and an Accident-Free Award for 3 years in a row. He also was presented with the Ace Silver Achievement Award.

 

He is survived by wife Linda Polarek; a daughter, Nichole Bishop; sister, Sharleen Stout of Elkhart, IN; 4 step-children, Jennifer Hernandez, Connie Jaquess, Julie Wood, and Sandra Mitchell; 7 grandchildren.

 

Philip was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has taken place.
