Samuel Kent Mannen

Samuel Kent Mannen, May 18, 1939 – May 4, 2020. Samuel Mannen passed away on May 4th, 2020 at 12:50 am at Lakeland Regional Hospital in Lakeland Florida. He passed due to complications with COPD and heart disease.

 

Sam was born May 18th, 1939 to Evelyn (Harmon) Rheinholtz and Orville Mannen. Sam is a veteran of the US Army, served in South Korea, and also served in the Marine Corps. He is a
former sergeant with La Porte County Police Department from May 1965 to September 1969 and was a member of their diving team as well as taught Judo (10th-degree black belt) and self-defense to the officers. He was also the president of the Merit Board for the Police department. He owned his own business in mobile homes and spent time in insurance and computer sales.


He is survived by his wife Patricia Mannen of Lakeland Florida and 3 children Steve Mannen of La Porte Indiana, Carol (Richard) Brooks of Lakeland Florida, and Linda (Jeff) Stone of Otsego Michigan. 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He is proceeded in death by his parents and 2 brothers. His cremated remains will be laid to rest by his mother and brother. There will be no memorial service.
