Linda Lee Jackson, 69, of Michigan City, passed away peacefully at 9:02 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2020, in Rochester, Indiana.

 

She was born September 21, 1950, in Avon Park, Florida, to Willard and Gladys (Roberts) Johnson.

 

Linda was a bartender for Sand Trap, Michigan City for 23 years. She was an avid bowler with bowling leagues and family. Linda enjoyed traveling with her family as well. She was known to be a uniquely special person. She loved her grandchildren and family deeply. Linda will be greatly missed.

 

In March of 1980, at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida, she married her first husband, John Bailey, who preceded her in death on October 11, 1988.

 

On November 30, 1991, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married her second husband, John “J.J.” L. Jackson, who preceded her in death on November 1, 2011.

 

Also preceding her in death are her parents; and many aunts and uncles.

 

Surviving are her three children, Timothy John (Laurie) Bailey of Michigan City, Tammy (Larry) Jackson of Rochester and Brian Bailey of Michigan City; two sisters, Elaine Weinzirl of Lake Wales, FL and Hope Johnson of Avon Park, FL; close friend, Denny Cheblowski of Michigan City; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Peanut.

 

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte (219) 362-3100. Visitation and viewing will be held from 3 p.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
