Richard Edwin Haughtington, 84, resident of Estero, FL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 21, 2020.  He was born May 25, 1935, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Arthur Edwin and Geraldine Elizabeth (Flanagan) Haughtington.

 

Richard honorable served his country in the United States Army Reserves. Surviving are his four children, Linda (Dean) Harmon of Michigan City, Lori Gonzalez of La Porte, Valerie (William) Dohner of La Porte and Steven (Katherine) Haughtington of Michigan City; one sister, Sandra (Willis) Johnston of Grand Ledge, MI; former wife, Merhth (Houck) Haughtington of Michigan City; eleven grandchildren, Kelly (Adam) Hardwicke, Kimberly Harmon, Amy Block, Nicolette, Ethan, Liam and Reed Dohner and Samuel, Mollie, Max Edwin, and Amelia Haughtington; five great-grandchildren; and close friend, Janet Johnson.

 

Preceding in death were his parents.

 

Cremation will take place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
