Sherry L. Connett, 66, of Mill Creek, passed away peacefully at 2:16 a.m., Monday, April 27, 2020, in her home.

 

She was born May 26, 1953, in La Porte, Indiana, to Edward F. and Barbara G. (Hopkins) Ginther.

 

Sherry worked for Polygon, Walkerton, for fifteen plus years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who held a kind heart. Sherry enjoyed helping others. She was a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Leader for her grandchildren’s troops. Sherry also enjoyed sewing, making baby blankets, and donating to charities. She will be dearly missed.

 

On December 4, 1993, in Salem Heights, Indiana, she married, David “Dave” P. Connett, who survives.

 

Also surviving are her two daughters, Wendy (Charles) Kautz and Jamie Clemons both of La Porte; nine siblings, Mark Ginther, Kerry (Judy) Ginther, Eddie (Lashaunda) Ginther, Charles “Chico” Griffin, Virginia “Ginger” (Ron) Greene, Mary Ginther and Theresa, Penny and Jody (Paul) Griffin; and four grandchildren, Sabrina Kautz, Sabastian Emery, Brooke Lawson-Kautz and Christopher Kautz.

 

Preceding in death were her parents; one son, Lawrence Frederick Peterson; and one sister, Debbie Bozek.

 

A funeral celebrating her life will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, May 4, 2020, at Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 with Pastor Bob Vale officiating. Visitation and viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Lamb’s Chapel Cemetery, La Porte.
