Alice Louise Stoll

Alice Louise Stoll, 91, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 11:30 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2020, at Aperion Care The Arbors, Michigan City.

 

She was born on October 27, 1928, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Reinhart and Isabell (Maxwell) Eikelberg.

 

Alice was a loving homemaker to her husband and children. She was a past member of the First United Methodist Church, Michigan City, and La Porte Grange. Alice worked and organized the pancake breakfast for the La Porte Grange. Also, a past member of the Women of the Moose, where she also played the piano. She was a very talented pianist and organist, starting to play both from her childhood. Alice enjoyed playing cards, taking annual trips with the Moose Lodge to Las Vegas and regular cabin vacations, fishing in MI with her family.

 

On April 29, 1951, in Michigan City, Indiana, she married, Vernon B. Stoll, who preceded her in death May 20, 2007.

 

Also preceding in death were her parents, Reinhart Eikelberg and Isabell Eikelberg; three sisters, May Ames, Lucille Stoll, and Allene Gondek; and four brothers, Wayne, Ward, Robert and Everett Eikelberg.

 

Surviving are her two sons, Garry (Sue) Stoll and Greg Stoll both of La Porte; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Katherine, Erik, and Matthew Stoll; and one great-granddaughter, Maddison Stoll.

 

Cremation will take place. Alice will be laid to rest with her husband, Vernon, at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
