Clem Sobieski

Clem Sobieski, 89, Westville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2020, at 12:00 am in his home.

Private family services will be conducted. A public memorial mass will be announced at a later date. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Otis, IN. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

He was born April 30, 1930, in Otis, IN to the late Frank and Helen Sobieski. On September 22, 1956, in Otis, IN he married Mary Jo Humphrey who preceded him on January 4, 2020.

Surviving are daughter, Mary Kesling of LaPorte, IN; son, Michael Sobieski of Westville, IN; four grandchildren, Brittany (Greg) Wireman, Katlyn (Justin) Nettoruer, Kyle Sobieski and Colton Kesling; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Sobieski and Frank Sobieski, both of Otis, IN.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Robert Sobieski; three sisters, Irene, Evelyn and Jean; and five brothers, Raymond, Alex, Frank, Jake, and Eddie.

Clem retired after 40 years as an electrician at U.S. Steel and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church/Otis and the I.B.E.W. Local 531. He enjoyed traveling and Christmas.
