Patsy D. Westergren

Patsy D. Westergren, 82, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020, at 8:05 am in Aperion Care Arbors at Michigan City, Michigan City, Indiana.

A private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, Indiana is handling arrangements.

She was born on October 29, 1937, in Delbarton, West Virginia to the late Pearl and Lora (Vance) Salmons. On December 31, 1972, in London, she married Richard A. Westergren who preceded July 11, 2016.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Gwen (Doug) Burk of La Porte, IN, Carolyn (Todd) Soller of Michigan City, IN; two sons, Kenneth (Pam) Hatfield of New Buffalo, MI, Donald (Bobbi) Hatfield of New Buffalo, MI; three step-daughters, Delene (Gary) McGowan of Arizona, Dianna (Wally Hamilton) Westergren of Gulfport, Mississippi, Denese Bloom of Golfport, Mississippi; step-son, Richard Duane Westergren of Boise, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, Lora (Billy) Sparks, Cory (Jay) Soller, Matthew (Gina) Helms, Blake (Michelle) Soller, Nicole (Keith) Kehoe, Kyle (Sarah) Hatfield, Kurtis Hatfield, Jacob (Danielle) Hatfield, Donielle Barnes, Samantha Hatfield, Steven Hoenke, Christopher Hoenke, Rachel Westergren, Katie Westergren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pearl Salmons, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, David (Wilma Jean) Salmons of Baltimore, MD; two sisters, Rosie Hatfield of Tennessee, Jaennette (Jimmy) Simkins of West Virginia; She was preceded in death by son, Chester Perry Hatfield; five sisters, Bertha, Patricia, Eva, Kay, Alice; brother, James.

Patsy retired from Fanning and Howie as a clerk. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Service League of Michigan City.
