Arletta G. Bootcheck, 96, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at 11:40 am in Rittenhouse Senior Living of Michigan City.

Private family services will be conducted. Entombment will take place in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Mausoleum. The Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, IN is handling arrangements.

She was born February 25, 1924, in Michigan City, IN to the late Roman and Edna (Povlock) Gobrewski. On April 26, 1947, in Michigan City, IN she married Clemens Bootcheck who preceded her on April 25, 1994.

Surviving are three daughters, Nancy (Ron) Blue of Danville, IL, Patricia Lamb of Florence, AZ and, Deborah Bootcheck of Chicago, IL; son, James (Debra) Bootcheck of Michigan City, IN; eight grandchildren, Ashlyn Blue, Tyler (Vicky) Blue, Brittany (Matt) Gandolfo, Madeline (Ricky) Pollock, Jilliene (Eric) Hekter, Justin Bootcheck, Julie (Joe) Warning and Kristen Karkiewicz; eight great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Madison, Adeline, Josephine, Gwendoline, Mila, Adelyn and Sawyer.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Gobrewski and Judith Ann Plant; brother, Eugene Gobrewski; and her niece Sue Karkiewicz.

Arletta retired after 34 years as an assistant to the credit manager at Weil McLain. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and a former member of Women of the Moose 935, Young at Heart Club, Michigan City Senior Center, United Polka Association, St. Stanislaus Rosary Society and the Weil McLain Salaried Employees Club.
