Donald Eugene Lovvorn, 62, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 4:10 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2020, in his home.

 

He was born September 15, 1957, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Aaron and Berdina (Venters) Lovvorn.

 

While growing up, Donald created many memories of coon hunting and fishing with family and friends. He honorably served his country in the United States Army. Donald was a truck driver for several years. He was an avid player of the app game, Farm Ville. Donald knew everybody and everybody knew him. He will be dearly missed.

 

Surviving are his father, Aaron Lovvorn of New Carlisle; three children, Marianne Rush of Mishawaka, Josh Barger and Caitlin (Kelson) Stone both of La Porte; service dog, Molly; four sisters, Delores (Gary) Adams of La Porte, Marie Gainer of Plymouth, Jackie (Thomas) Smith of La Porte and Vicky Lovvorn of New Carlisle; five grandchildren, Abbigail Rush, Ty Rush, Aaron Rush, Peyton Stone, and Brayden Stone; and soulmate and caregiver, Barb Scofield of La Porte.

 

Preceding in death were his mother, Berdina Lovvorn; one brother, Robert Lovvorn; paternal grandparents, Ruffin Lovvorn and Lucy Williams Lovvorn; and maternal grandparents, Orville Venters and Tilda May Acton Venters.

 

Cremation will take place. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
