Lorraine J. Osterstock

Lorraine J. Osterstock, 89, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2020, at her home with her family by her side. 

   

Lorraine was born in Easton, PA, on September 10, 1930, to William J.and Lena B. (Bickford) Jones. 

 

On September 11, 1948, in Nazareth, PA, she married Robert Osterstock, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1996.  Surviving are her children, Alan Osterstock of Fair Oaks, CA, Nancy (Dave) Sule of La Porte and Donna (Steve) Regrut of Kempton, PA; 6 grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Osterstock, Justin (Jamie) Sule, Kelsey Leonhardt, Lauren, and Marisa Behney; 2 stepgrandchildren, Stephen and Sarah Regrut; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zoey and Hunter Sule.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: son, Robert Osterstock, Jr.; and brother, Leon Jones.

 

Lorraine worked in a blouse mill in Pennsylvania.  She and her late husband, Bob, were dedicated local legion baseball fans and Phillie Fanatics.  Upon the death of her long time friend and companion, Joe Schneider, Sr. in 2007, Lorraine decided to join her daughter in Indiana to live out her life.  When she moved to Indiana, she became a proud member of Curves and took up bowling and participated in 3 bowling leagues.  Lorraine was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing pinnacle, bunko, and going to the Swanson Center.  She would attend the activities at Oak Wood Manor including an occasional trip with her friends to the casino where she played the penny machines.  Lorraine also enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as often as possible.

 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

   

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Larry Owens officiating.

 

A time of visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday day at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at a later date.
