Michaeline “Mikki” Ora Bowen, 62, of Union Mills, passed away unexpectedly at 8:37 a.m., Saturday, February 15, 2020 at La Porte Hospital.

 

She was born March 29, 1957, in Gary, Indiana, to Algird and Kathleen (Pritchard) Galinis.

 

Michaeline was a loving homemaker to her family. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Michaeline was known for her free spirit.

 

On October 30, 1976, in Kilauea, Hawaii, she married her husband, Stephen George Bowen, who survives.

 

Also surviving are her three children, David (Kate) Bowen of Claremore, OK and James (Kylee) Bowen and Stephanie Bowen both of Union Mills; mother, Kathleen Galinis of Merrillville; one sister, Pamela Galinis of Merrillville; eight grandchildren, Hailey, Jacob, Autumn, Tony, Jesse, Emilee, Lukeas and Anthony; and one nephew, Richard Galinis.

 

Preceding her in death was her father, Algird A. Galinis.

 

Cremation will take place. A private celebration of her life will be held. Lakeview Funeral Home & Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100 is caring for the arrangements.
