Legacy Gallery features Jamie McNeill

The Legacy Center is proud to host the artwork of Jamie McNeill in their next installation. Located on the campus of Queen of All Saints Catholic Church in Michigan City, the Legacy Center serves as a multi-use gathering space for community and parish functions.

The Gallery Wall seeks to incorporate the parish with the greater arts community. McNeill uses a realistic style and the soft, yet vibrant colors of pastel and colored pencil to portray the beauty and inspiration of landscapes and nature. Wildlife has always fascinated him, stemming from a lifetime of hunting and fishing. His first experience as an artist was in grade school during church services, continually drawing the same whitetail deer so it would come out just right. Largely self-taught, McNeill’s subjects range from a herd of bison titled “Snow Army” to a fawn aptly-titled “Wary”. A few of his nature renderings have been used by the Indiana DNR for education and identification purposes.

McNeill’s current exhibit also features a subject matter familiar to many Michigan City locals and vacation homeowners – the former pump house on Lakeshore Drive. The public is invited to view McNeill’s artwork during regular Legacy Center hours, 6 am to 8 pm CST. The center is located at 1719 E. Barker Ave. in Michigan City, and visitors should enter through the doors off Esther Street.

The artwork will be displayed through January 4, 2021, at which time the Gallery Wall will change with a new artist. Questions can be directed to jessicar@qas.org.
