12:00 - 1:00 p.m. - Indiana Audubon Society Join Indiana Audubon Society member Matt Kalwasinski for a presentation on the various types of raptors, including hawks and owls, that can be seen in Northwest Indiana. Matt will cover basic identification tips and give suggestions on where to find these incredible species of birds in our area. Matt Kalwasinski is a high school Psychology teacher and lifelong resident of Lake County, Indiana. Matt is an active member of both the Dunes-Calumet and Indiana Audubon Societies, and in addition to giving presentations, Matt can often be found leading field trips and conducting citizen-science surveys on birds. - 2:00-3:00 p.m. - Humane Indiana Wildlife - Differences in Hawks, Owls, and Falcons Join the staff of Humane Indiana Wildlife to learn about more of our LIVE bird of prey ambassadors, including a Peregrine Falcon, Red-tailed Hawk, and Barn Owl.

The LaPorte Community Concert Association is bringing a concert by Illumine Trio to the Kessling Intermediate School Auditorium, 306 E. 18th St., LaPorte, IN at 7:00 pm on Monday, March 27. The award-winning Illumine Trio is a unique ensemble consisting of trumpet (Chris O’Hara), harp (Katie Lynch Koglin), and soprano (Sarah Moyer). This group of friends met as performers in Boston and their friendship and love of music has helped them establish Illumine as a world-class musical ensemble. The members of Illumine Trio have vast experience across the musical spectrum from internationally touring brass ensembles to musical theater, orchestra, Grammy nominated vocal ensembles, rock, jazz and beyond. These three friends bring all these styles together for a beautiful and joyful musical experience—“a breath of fresh air.”
Highlights of the performance are: Penny Lane—The Beatles; Fields of Gold—Sting; Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring—Bach; Alleluia—Mozart; Bittersweet Symphony—The Verve; Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World—Weiss/Thiele.

VIDEOS SOUGHT FOR THE 2023 MICHIGAN CITY VIDEO FEST
The Michigan City Video Fest is back and is now accepting submissions. The festival will be held the first weekend in May. Times and venues will be announced later. Priority will be given to local regional makers and to regional subject matter with the top concern being to present the highest quality material available. Nonetheless, we have had premiered videos from both coasts as well as from Europe and Australia.
All genre will be considered such as animations, documentaries, music videos, commercials and trailers. The preference is for videos shorter than 5 minutes but invitations may be extended for longer videos.
There are no prizes or awards. We are just trying to get out the word about sometimes overlooked video gems and to encourage local video makers and create a community of video enthusiast.
